RIDDEN COLOURED HORSES AND PONIES sponsored by CHAPS (UK) Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers Judges: Conformation: Mr J Lloyd SADDLEWORTH Ridden: Miss R Thomas BRIDGEND Conditions: 1. This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). (CHAPS (UK) Affiliation Number 22-079). 2. Please state HOYS ID numbers and CHAPS (UK) / TGCA / TSR Registration numbers for Owners, Riders and Horses on your Entry. (For Horse of the Year Show ID numbers please contact Grandstand Media on 024 7685 8205) 3. This competition is open to mares, geldings and CHAPS (UK) graded stallions, four years old or over, to be registered in, and complying with the showing requirements of, the main body of the stud books of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society CHAPS (UK) or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA). Stallions are required to wear stallion discs in order to compete. 4. All Riders and owners must be Members of the Coloured Horse and Pony Society, The Showing Register or the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association. For height restricted exhibits a valid JMB number must be lodged with the respective society. This class will be divided into four sections as follows: Section A Ridden Non-Native Ponies up to and including 153cm Section B Ridden Non-Native Horses exceeding 153cm Section C Ridden Native/Cob/Traditional Ponies up to and including 148cm Section D Ridden Native/Cob/Traditional Horses exceeding 148cm These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from For full policy details please visit · Ride/Performance - 50 Marks Maximum. · Conformation, Movement & Quality - 50 Marks Maximum. In the case of equality, the horse with the highest Ride/ Performance mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the judges' decision will be final. These classes are qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 5 - 9 October 2022. Qualification will not pass below 5th place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. Lead Rein entries are not permitted in any of these classes. 5. Only one exhibit may qualify per class. If the 1st placed animal has already qualified, the qualifier may pass down to the highest placed exhibit standing to 5th place only, who has not already qualified. 6. No spurs when ridden by a junior rider (under 18 years), or by any rider competing in a restricted height section. All ages taken as at 1st January in the current year. 7. Horses/ponies are to be produced at Horse of the Year Show in the same type category in which they qualified. 8. Failure to comply with ANY of the Qualifying Rules will result in the forfeit of the qualifying place. 9. The 'pull-in' or 'no pull-in' system is at the discretion of the judges on the day. The judges must make the decision prior to the commencement of the first class and stewards to be instructed accordingly. If 'no-pull' is used, competitors will be asked to line up in any order from the initial presentation. Qualifiers: a) Classes 77 - 80 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham, 5 - 9 October 2022. In Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers Horse of the Year Show rules take precedence. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. b) This show is a qualifier for the 2022 TSR NAF Five Star Showing Finals - the following classes 77, 78, 79 and 80 are qualifiers. You do NOT have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! The 4 highest placed handlers/riders will qualify in each class. Competitors MUST have their card signed by judge/steward/secretary, cards are available FREE from the TSR website.
