For Ponies please state HOYS ID numbers and the pony's Breed Society Registration Number on the Entry, (this is not their NPS/ BSPS/ UKPH/ TSR number). For Highland Ponies: "ponies must be registered in the full body of the Highland Pony Society Stud Book (including appendices A, B & C). All competing Highland pony stallions (In Hand, Ridden, WHP etc) aged 4yrs and over must be licensed with the Highland Pony Society" Connemara Ponies - can be registered with either BCPS (or CPBS if residing in the UK for less than 30 days) but must be registered correctly as adults (ie not on a G3, M3 or S3 registration). For Owners and Riders please state HOYS ID numbers and BSPS/ NPS/ UKPH/ TSR or Breed Society Registration numbers on your Entry. Horse of the Year Show Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony Championship Qualifier 2022 The following class is a qualifier for the Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications Ltd Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, 5 - 9 October 2022. This class is open to Mountain and Moorland stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in, and complying with the showing requirements of, the main body of their respective stud books. Ponies must be within the correct height stipulations for their height section however ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant breed societies. Riders of stallions must have obtained their 12th Birthday (small breeds) or 14th birthday (large breeds) before 1st January in the current year. Please note that at Horse of the Year Show ponies must not compete in both the Mountain & Moorland Junior 122cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year and the Mountain & Moorland 122cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year. The pony will compete in the class in which it qualifies first during the season. Riders and ponies may compete in both section A and section B at HOYS qualifiers. Once a pony has qualified in either section A or section B it will no longer be eligible to compete in the section in which it has not qualified. In Section A (Mountain & Moorland Junior 122cm Working Hunter Pony) the course of fences must contain only one double and no water tray. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at Horse of the Year Show 2022. Riders and Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, UK Ponies & Horses Ltd, The Showing Register or BSPS. To be run under the rules of the Horse of the Year Show. Copies can be obtained from www.hoys.co.uk Marks to be awarded as follows: Phase 1 (70 Marks): Jumping points 50 marks, Style with jumping 20 marks Phase 2 (30 Marks): Breed, type & conformation 20 marks, Individual show & manners 10 marks In the event of equality the total mark from the Jumping Phase will take precedence, followed by the Individual Show & Manners Mark, and then the Breed Type & Conformation Mark. Qualification will not pass below third place and will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office. Jumping Course Guidelines Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter ponies must jump a 12 fence track. Please note the fence height guidelines shown below which must be enforced for each section. Failure to do so may result in qualification of the pony being removed, at the discretion of GML. JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier. 3. ON THE DAY, declarations to be made to the Ancaster Ring Steward, 45 minutes before the Class and ponies to jump in catalogue order. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2022 - Classes 152, 153, 154, 155 and 156 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show at the NEC, Birmingham, 5 - 9 October 2022. The highest placed horse/pony (not already qualified) from the first three in each class will qualify. Qualification will not pass below third place and will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. Riders and Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, UKPH, The Showing Register or BSPS. b) This show is a qualifier for the 2022 TSR NAF Five Star Showing Finals - the following classes 152-156 are qualifiers. You do NOT have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! The 4 highest placed handlers/riders will qualify in each class. Competitors MUST have their card signed by judge/steward/secretary, cards are available FREE from the TSR website. Full details at c) The B.S.P.S. Classic Services Group Challenge - All summer qualifying shows that are affiliated to the B.S.P.S. are qualifiers for the "The B.S.P.S. Challenge". Animals must qualify for the Challenge by attending any B.S.P.S affiliated Show and competing in the appropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2022 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class. d) The B.S.P.S. "Binks Family" Show Champion of Champions - This Show is a qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Binks Family Champion of Champions. The 1st prize winners of classes 152, 153, 154, 155 and 156 will qualify.
