Please state HOYS ID numbers and BSPS/ NPS/ PUK/ TSR Registration numbers for Owners, Riders and Ponies on your Entry Form. (For HOYS ID numbers please contact Grandstand Media on 02476 858205). 2. This Society is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (B.S.P.S. 2/17) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the B.S.P.S. including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S. . For Horse of the Year Show qualifiers, Horse of the Year show rules take precedence. These can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. 3. Owners and riders must be B.S.P.S., NPS, P(UK) or The Showing Register Members and the pony registered with the B.S.P.S., NPS, P(UK) or The Showing Register and a valid JMB number logged with that society to compete in classes with qualifications for the Horse of the Year Show (classes 113 to 116 and 118). 4. NO PONY UNDER THE AGE OF FOUR YEARS is eligible to compete and the wearing of spurs is forbidden. 5. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2017. Classes 113-116 and 118 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show, NEC, Birmingham to be held from Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th October 2017. This class will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. Only one pony in each class qualifies. The highest placed (not already qualified) from the first five ponies in each class will qualify. Qualification will be verified by Horse of the Year Show Office. Marks will be awarded in the following way: Manners and way of going- 50 marks maximum Conformation, type & freedom of action- 50 marks maximum In the case of equality, the pony with the highest manners and way of going mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the judge's decision will be final,b) The Blue Riband Pony of the Year. The first and second placed ponies in classes 113 to 116 will qualify, provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member. b) The Blue Riband Pony of the Year. All summer qualifying shows that are affiliated to the B.S.P.S. are qualifiers for the "The B.S.P.S. Challenge". Animals must qualify for the Challenge by attending any B.S.P.S affiliated Show and competing in the appropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2017 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class. d) B.S.P.S. Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all B.S.P.S. Affiliated Shows (Classes 113 to 116 and 118) will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show. e) B.S.P.S. Championships to be held at Arena UK - 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 113 to 116 will qualify, provided the animal is registered in accordance with B.S.P.S. Rule 23 and ridden by a B.S.P.S. member. f) This Show is a Qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Binks Family Champion of Champions. g) The 'Michaela Wood' Supreme Ridden Pony Championship. The final to be held at the North of England Summer Pony Show on 8th July 2017 kindly sponsored by 'The Wood Family'. (Prize Money at the final 1st £1000, 2nd £400, 3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25, 7th £25, 8th £25, Sashes to the Champion & Reserve, Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists.) The SHP Champion will qualify from C117. If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will Qualify. Exhibitors who qualify for the final will be sent details directly from: The Secretary, North of England Summer Pony Show, Blue Slate Stables, Showley Road, Clayton-le-Dale, Blackburn, Lancs, BB1 9DP www.northofenglandshows.co.uk h) TSR Riders Championships - classes 113, 114, 115, 116 and 118 are qualifiers for the 2017 TSR Riders Regional Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter the final. The Rider Qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals. 1st & 2nd Riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. i) P(UK) Qualification for the BSPA Finals 2017 and Winter Classic 2018 (Ponies U.K. affiliation number 017/A17/8014) 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ponies from classes 113, 114, 115, 116 and 118 will qualify for the P(UK) Timberwolf SHP Championship. Qualification Tickets will be awarded in the ring. Competitors in qualifying positions ARE NOT required to become a member in order to compete in the P(UK) Championship Finals. ENTRY FEES LAS Members Non-Members Classes 113 to 116, and 118 £37 £43 (These fees include a £12 Horse of the Year Show contribution). PRIZE MONEY 1st, £40; 2nd, £35; 3rd, £25; 4th, £20; 5th, £15.
