For Ponies please state HOYS ID numbers and the pony's Breed Society Registration Number on the Entry Form, (this is not their NPS/ BSPS/ PUK /TSR number). For Connemaras, ponies can be registered with either BCPS or CPBS but must be registered correctly as adults (i.e. not on a G3, M3 or S3 registration) please state which Society on the Entry Form. For Owners and Riders please state HOYS ID numbers and BSPS/ NPS/ PUK/ TSR or Breed Society Registration numbers on your Entry Form. The following classes are qualifiers for the Mountain & Moorland Ridden Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th October 2017. This competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in the main body of their respective stud books. Partbreds and mares with a living foal born during the current season are not eligible to compete. To be run as scheduled. Riders can be of any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 12th birthday (small breeds) or 14th birthday (large breeds) before 1st January in the current year. Correct riding attire must be worn, spurs are not allowed and whips must not exceed 30". Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant breed societies. Riders and Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register, or BSPS. Judges may only judge one Horse of the Year Show M&M Ridden qualifying competition during the current year and marks must be awarded as follows: Show/Freedom of Action Maximum 50 Breed Type/Conformation Maximum 50 The highest placed animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of the Year Show 2017, subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. Please note: Ponies that qualify for this Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2017 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be sent to Grandstand Media Ltd at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show. JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier. 3. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. 4. This is a WPCS performance sire rating show. 5. A Breed Rosette to the highest placed registered pony of each breed: Welsh A, B, C, D, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland. Owners must be a current member of their respective Breed Society unless exempt and membership Cards (if issued by the Society) produced in the Ring. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2017 - Mountain & Moorland Ridden Pony of the Year Horse of the Year Show Qualifying Round. Classes 142-145 and 147-150 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, to be held from Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th October 2017 at the NEC Birmingham. The highest placed horse/pony (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify, subject to verification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. b) The 'Torne Valley' Supreme Ridden Mountain & Moorland Championship. The final to be held at the North of England Summer Pony Show on 9th July 2017, kindly sponsored by 'Torne Valley Farm & Country Stores' Tickhill, Doncaster (01302 756000) www.tornevalley.co.uk (Prize Money at the final 1st £1000, 2nd £400, 3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25, 7th £25, 8th £25, Sashes to the Champion & Reserve, Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists). The Champion Open Ridden M&M will qualify from C146 and C151. If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will Qualify. Qualification Tickets will be awarded in the ring. Competitors in qualifying positions ARE NOT required to become a member in order to compete in the P(UK) Championship Finals. d) The B.S.P.S. CHALLENGE. All summer qualifying shows that are affiliated to the B.S.P.S. are qualifiers for the "The B.S.P.S. Challenge". Animals must qualify for the Challenge by attending any B.S.P.S affiliated Show and competing in the appropriate class. Ponies must not have qualified for the 2017 Horse of the Year Show in the appropriate class. e) B.S.P.S. Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all B.S.P.S. Affiliated Shows (Classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150) will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show. f) TSR Riders Championships - classes 142, 143, 144, 145, 147, 148, 149 and 150 are a qualifiers for the 2017 TSR Riders Regional Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter the final. The Rider Qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals. 1st & 2nd Riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. g) Special Prizes - A Breed Rosette to the highest placed registered pony of each breed: Welsh A, B, C, D, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland. Owners must be a current member of their respective Breed Society and membership Cards (if issued by the Society) produced in the Ring. ENTRY FEES LAS Members Non-Members £37 £43 (These fees include a £12 Horse of the Year Show contribution). PRIZE MONEY 1st, £40; 2nd, £35; 3rd, £25; 4th, £20; 5th, £15.
