NPS/BAILEYS HORSE FEEDS MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN PONY Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers Judges: Classes 142 - C146 Conformation: Mrs S Phelan TITCHFIELD Performance: Mr L E Bigley ESCLEY Classes 147 - C151 Conformation: Mrs Z Hadingham WOODBRIDGE Performance: Mrs H Prescott ORMSKIRK Conditions: 1. The following classes are qualifiers for the NPS/Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain & Moorland Ridden Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, Wednesday 5th - Sunday 9th October 2016. This competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in the main body of their respective stud books. Partbreds and mares with a living foal born during the current season are not eligible to compete. To be run as scheduled. Riders can be of any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 12th birthday (small breeds) or 14th birthday (large breeds) before 1st January in the current year. Correct riding attire must be worn, spurs are not allowed and whips must not exceed 30". Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant breed societies. Riders and Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register, or BSPS. Judges may only judge one Horse of the Year Show M&M Ridden qualifying competition during the current year and marks must be awarded as follows: Show/Freedom of Action Maximum 50 Breed Type/Conformation Maximum 50 The highest placed animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of the Year Show 2016, subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. Please note: Ponies that qualify for this Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2016 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be sent to Grandstand Media Ltd at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show. JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier. 2. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. 3. This is a WPCS performance sire rating show. 4. A Breed Rosette to the highest placed registered pony of each breed: Welsh A, B, C, D, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland. Owners must be a current member of their respective Breed Society and membership Cards (if issued by the Society) produced in the Ring. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2016 - NPS / Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain & Moorland Ridden Pony of the Year Horse of the Year Show Qualifying Round. Classes 142-145 and 147-150 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, to be held from Wednesday 5th - Sunday 9th October at the NEC Birmingham. The highest placed horse/pony (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify, subject to verification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. b) The 'Torne Valley' Supreme Ridden Mountain & Moorland Championship. The final to be held at the North of England In Hand and Mountain & Moorland Show on 10th July 2016, kindly sponsored by 'Torne Valley Farm & Country Stores' Tickhill, Doncaster (01302 756000) www.tornevalley.co.uk (Prize Money at the final 1st £1000, 2nd £400, 3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25, 7th £25, 8th £25, Sashes to the Champion & Reserve, Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists). The Champion Open Ridden M&M will qualify from C146 and C151. If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will Qualify. Exhibitors who qualify for the final will be sent details directly from: The Secretary, North of England In Hand and Mountain & Moorland Show, Blue Slate Stables, Showley Road, Clayton-le-Dale, Blackburn, Lancs, BB1 9DP www.northofenglandshows.co.uk c) P(UK) Qualification for the Supreme Championships 2016, BSPA Finals 2016 and Winter Classic 2017 (Ponies U.K. affiliation number 16/A16/7821) 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed ponies from classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150, will qualify for the P(UK) Kingsford M&M Ridden Pony of the Year Championship. Qualification Tickets will be awarded in the ring. Competitors in qualifying positions ARE NOT required to become a member in order to compete in the P(UK) Championship Finals. d) The B.S.P.S. CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LTD CHALLENGE.The highest placed pony in classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150 that has not qualified for the 2016 Horse of the Year Show, in the appropriate class, will qualify (provided the animal is registered in accordance with B.S.P.S. Rules 23 and 28, and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member). If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge", the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the 2016 Horse of the Year Show, it will forfeit it's qualification for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge". e) B.S.P.S. Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all B.S.P.S. Affiliated Shows (Classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150) will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show. f) TSR Riders Championships - classes 142, 143, 144, 145, 147, 148, 149 and 150 are a qualifiers for the 2016 TSR Riders Regional Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Regional Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter the final. The Rider Qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals. 1st & 2nd Riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. g) BSPS Summer Championships 1st, 2nd & 3rd prize winners from classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150 to qualify for the BSPS Summer Championships Show provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden in accordance with B.S.P.S Rules. The BSPS Heritage WOW FACTOR Ponies placed 1st classes 142 to 145 and 147 to 150 will qualify for the BSPS "Industrial Salt Supplies" Winner of Winners at the BSPS Summer Championship Show. h) Special Prizes - A Breed Rosette to the highest placed registered pony of each breed: Welsh A, B, C, D, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland. Owners must be a current member of their respective Breed Society and membership Cards (if issued by the Society) produced in the Ring.
