Qualifiers for The Horse First Sport Horse Challenge Championships

Conditions
1. These classes will be run under the Rules of the SHB(GB) 2015 Rules. Contact number for SHB(GB) is 01732 866277, website: www.sporthorsegb.co.uk.

2. All entries in Sport Horse classes must be on the Society's Basic Identity Record or Stud Book.

3. These classes are for young athletic horses that have the conformation and movement to go to the top of their sphere.

4. All horses must exceed 148cm (14.2hh approx)

5. Riders must have proof of horses age (ie registration document)

6. All ages date from 1st January, e.g. a foal becomes a yearling on the first day of January following that of its birth.

7. Any rider can present up to three horses in each class.

8. All horses come into the ring individually and give a short ridden display of walk, trot and canter, of approx 1 minute, to be awarded marks out of a possible 20. Then proceed straight into the jumping phase, to be awarded marks out of a possible 10 per fence.

9. All horses, unless eliminated are required to come back without saddles, for conformation assessment to be awarded marks out of a possible 50.

10. The jumping phase will comprise a mixture of coloured and rustic obstacles and is designed to produce a minimum of eight jumping efforts. There is no set penalty for a pole down or a run out, but three refusals, or fall of horse or rider will result in elimination.

a) The below classes are qualifiers for The Horse First Ridden Sport Horse Challenge Championships being held at the Hickstead Derby Meeting, (The All England Show Jumping Course) in June 2016.
