| NPS/BAILEYS HORSE FEEDS MOUNTAIN AND MOORLAND RIDDEN PONY Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers Judges: Conformation: Mrs B J Evans STUDLEY, Warks. Performance: Mr T M Barron Neasham, DARLINGTON Conditions: Classes 142 to C149 will be judged under Horse of the Year Show rules. 1. The following classes are qualifiers for the NPS / Baileys Horse Feeds Ridden Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, 9th - 13th October 2013. This competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in the main body of their respective stud books. Part-breds and mares with a living foal born during the current season are not eligible to compete. 2. Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant Breed Societies. 3. Ponies that qualify for the Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2013 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be sent at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show. JMB Certificates are not required to enter this qualifier. 4. Riders can be of any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Correct riding attire must be worn, spurs are not allowed and whips must not exceed 30". Riders and Owners must be members of their respective breed society, NPS, Ponies (UK), BSPS or The Showing Register. 5. Judges may only judge one qualifier during the current year and marks will be awarded as follows: Show, freedom of action - 50 marks Breed type, conformation - 50 marks In the case of equality, the pony with the highest show, freedom of action mark will be deemed the winner. 7. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. Split Classes 1. Where there are more than 20 entries forward in a class, the judges may split the class into sections according to the circumstances on the day. 2. Each section must be marked and the top five ponies with the highest marks should go forward to a final judging. The marks are not to be displayed at this point and no rosettes awarded. 3. For the final judging the top ponies should be invited back into the ring and lined up in any order. No further show will be given. 4. The judges should then refer to their original marks. In the case of equality the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the judges' decision will be final. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2013 - NPS / Baileys Horse Feeds Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year Horse of the Year Show Qualifying Round. Classes 142-147 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, to be held from 9th -13th October, 2013 at the NEC Birmingham. The highest placed horse/pony (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify. b) The 'Torne Valley' Supreme Ridden Mountain & Moorland Championship. The final to be held at the North of England In Hand and Mountain & Moorland Show on 14th July 2013, kindly sponsored by 'Torne Valley Farm & Country Stores' Tickhill, Doncaster (01302 756000) www.tornevalley.com (Prize Money at the final 1st £1000, 2nd £400, 3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25, 7th £25, 8th £25 Sashes to the Champion & Reserve, Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists). The Champion Open Ridden M&M will qualify from C149. If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will Qualify. From classes 142 to 148, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class will qualify for the Kingsford M&M Ridden Pony of the Year Summer Championship. No Qualification Cards will be awarded in the ring, placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary. d) The B.S.P.S. CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LTD CHALLENGE.The highest placed pony in classes 142 to 148 that has not qualified for the 2013 Horse of the Year Show, in the appropriate class, will qualify (provided the animal is registered in accordance with B.S.P.S. Rules 23 and 28, and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member). If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge", the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the 2013 Horse of the Year Show, it will forfeit it's qualification for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge". e) B.S.P.S. Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all B.S.P.S. Affiliated Shows (Classes 142 to 148) will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show. ENTRY FEES Members Non-Members £34 £40 (These fees include a £11 Horse of the Year Show contribution). PRIZE MONEY 1st, £35; 2nd, £30; 3rd, £25; 4th, £20; 5th, £15 Rosettes to 6th place.
