SHOW HUNTER PONIES (OPEN CLASSES) HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW QUALIFIERS Judges: Performance: Mrs H Buchanan HALE Conformation: Mrs A Grace BENINGTON Conditions 1. This Society is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (B.S.P.S. 20/12) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S. Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the B.S.P.S. including the disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S. 2. Owners and riders must be B.S.P.S., NPS or P(UK) Members and the pony registered with the B.S.P.S., NPS or P(UK) to compete in classes with qualifications for the Horse of the Year Show (classes 113 to 117). 3. NO PONY UNDER THE AGE OF FOUR YEARS is eligible to compete and the wearing of spurs is forbidden. 4. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show Qualifier 2012. Classes 113-117 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show to be held from 3rd - 7th October. Only one pony in each class qualifies.The highest placed (not already qualified) from the first five ponies in each class will qualify. b) The Blue Riband Pony of the Year.The first and second placed ponies in classes 114 to 117 will qualify, provided the pony is owned, registered and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member. c) The B.S.P.S. CLASSIC SECURITY (UK) LTD CHALLENGE.The highest placed pony in classes 113 to 117 that has not qualified for the 2012 Horse of the Year Show, in the appropriate class, will qualify (provided the animal is registered in accordance with B.S.P.S. Rules 23 and 28, and ridden by a B.S.P.S. Member). If the highest placed pony has already qualified for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge", the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony. If after qualifying a pony qualifies for the 2012 Horse of the Year Show, it will forfeit it's qualification for the "B.S.P.S. Challenge". d) B.S.P.S. Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all B.S.P.S. Affiliated Shows (Classes 113 to 117) will be awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show. e) B.S.P.S. Championships to be held at Arena UK - 1st and 2nd prize winners from classes 114 to 117 will qualify, provided the animal is registered in accordance with B.S.P.S. Rule 23 and ridden by a B.S.P.S. member. f) The 'Garrick Surface Coatings' Supreme Riding Pony Championship. The FINAL to be held at the North of England Summer Pony Show on 14th July 2012 kindly sponsored by 'Garrick Surface Coatings Ltd' (01772 337235). (Prize Money at the FINAL 1st £1000, 2nd £400,3rd £100, 4th £50, 5th £25, 6th £25, 7th £25, 8th £25 Sashes to the Champion & Reserve, Rosettes to all other prize winners and finalists.) The SHP Champion will qualify from C118. If the Champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion will go forward. Only the Champion or Reserve Champion will Qualify.
