THE HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW M & M LR/FR Championship 2012 QUALIFIERS
THE BRINETON COLNE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEADING REIN & FIRST RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012 HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW QUALIFIERS Judges: Performance: Mrs S Thomas SHEWSBURY Conformation: Mrs J K Bushell Formby, LIVERPOOL Conditions: Classes 139 to C141 will be judged under the Rules of the Horse of the Year Show Rules. 1. Class 139 is open to Mountain & Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their approved respective Stud Books. (Registration Number quoted on entry form.) Ponies not to exceed 122cm (12.0hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2012. 2. Class 140 is open to Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. (Registration Number quoted on entry form.) Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Riders must have attained their 5th Birthday and not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2012. 3. A Special Rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Member from B.S.P.S. Area 4b in ALL Classes - Eligible competitors must wear a GREEN armband. 4. Judges may only judge one qualifying competition in the current year. Marks to be awarded: Show / Freedom of Action - Maximum 50 and Breed Type / Conformation - Maximum 50 In the event of equality, the pony with the highest Show/Freedom of Action mark will be deemed the Winner. Split Classes 1. Where there are more than 20 entries forward in a class, judges may split the class into sections according to the circumstances on the day. 2. Each section must be marked and the top five ponies with the highest marks should go forward to a final judging. The marks are not to be displayed at this point and no rosettes awarded. 3. For the final judging the top ponies should be invited back into the ring and lined up in any order. No further show will be given. 4. The judges should then refer to their original marks. In the case of equality the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the judges' decision will be final. 5. The highest place animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of the Year Show, subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. Qualifiers: a) Horse of the Year Show 2012. Classes 139 and 140 are qualifiers for the Horse of the Year Show 2012, NEC Birmingham 3rd - 7th October 2012. From each class, the highest place pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show. N.B. - Ponies that qualify for this Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2012 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be enclosed at the time of entry to HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW. JMB Certificates are not required to enter this Qualifier. b) Ponies (UK) Summer Championships (Ponies U.K. affiliation number 012/SUM/6604) From class 139, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd will qualify for the Lobster Pot Mountain & Moorland Leading Rein Championship. No Qualification Cards will be awarded in the ring, placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary. c) Ponies (UK) Summer Championships (Ponies U.K. affiliation number 012/SUM/6604) From class 140, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd will qualify for the Brineton Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Championship. No Qualification Cards will be awarded in the ring, placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary. d) Class 139 is a Qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Heritage Mountain & Moorland Open Lead Rein. e) Class 140 is a Qualifier for the B.S.P.S. Heritage Mountain & Moorland Open First Ridden. f) Both classes are Qualifiers for the B.S.P.S. "Classic Security" UK Ltd Challenge and Black Country Saddles Rider of the Year. ENTRY FEES Members Non-Members £33.00 £39.00 (These fees include a £10.50 Horse of the Year Show contribution).
